Dear all, please find attached the second Call for Applications for NWIB’s Visiting Professors Program. Please distribute to possibly interested academic staff members.

NWIB is the umbrella name for the Dutch Scientific Institutes Abroad (https://www.ru.nl/nwib/), which are established in Athens, Rome, Florence, Petersburg and Cairo. VU is currently chairing the board of the NWIB umbrella. The participating universities besides ourselves are UvA, Utrecht, Leiden, Groningen and Nijmegen.

The visiting professors program is open for applications from assistant, associate and full professors. Visiting positions are for 3 months at 1 of the institutes. A total of 10 positions are offered in the period between September 2022 and August 2023. Stipends to a maximum of K€ 10 are available per position, no salary costs will be covered.

Candidates are expected to contribute to the academic climate at the preferred institute by showing a connection between their proposed workplan and the specific location of the institute, e.g. renaissance arts and Florence. The focus of the institutes is mainly on Humanities and Social Sciences, but they are interested as well in other disciplines as long as there is a local connection.
