CHERN’s Mailman enables CHERN members to send a single email to a group address, which is then distributed to the individual emails of all members of the list.
Only CHERN members can sign up (below) and will be accepted to the Mailman list. Please confirm your subscription through an email confirmation link. Note that you can unsubscribe at any moment.
Members can share event invitations, publications, calls for papers/conference panels/ collaboration, and vacancies that are relevant to the CHERN community, adhering to the membership guidelines (see below).
The list is managed by Alexandra Filius (CHERN network manager) and Jelena Gledić (CHERN communication manager), who can add and remove list members and resolve technical issues.

How Does CHERN's Mailman Work?
Any message sent to the central email address is distributed to all list members. CHERN members who are subscribed to the mailing list can receive and send emails.
To send a message, email the list's address: chern.fsw@listserver.vu.nl. Your email will be distributed to all list members. Emails sent to the list are forwarded to your registered email address.
You can change several list options (eg, switch to or from digest mode (a summary of emails), change your password or e-mailaddress etc.), visit your subscription page (see Mailman list-serve's welcome mail). Log in using your email address and the password sent when you subscribed.
To unsubscribe, go to your subscription page (see Mailman list-serve's welcome mail) and enter your email address and click Unsubscribe or edit options. Do not forget to follow the instructions in the confirmation email.

Membership Guidelines for CHERN's Mailman:
To ensure a positive and productive experience for all members, please adhere to the following guidelines when participating:
1) Stay on-topic and keep contributions and announcements relevant to CHERN. Do not send commercial advertisements, irrelevant content, or chain emails. You can share event invitations, publications, calls for papers/conference panels/ collaboration, vacancies that are relevant to the CHERN community. 2) Treat all members with courtesy and respect, even when disagreements arise. Avoid offensive language, sarcasm, or aggressive comments. 3) Please note that your emails are share with everyone on the list, do not share private information. 4) Use clear subject lines to make it easy to understand the content of your message. 5) Be mindful of others' time; aim for clarity and brevity. 6) Avoid large attachments, share links to files instead of attaching them. 7) When you reply to a message, please reply to the sender individually, only reply to the entire list if your response is relevant to all members. In other words, use "Reply All" with caution. Keep replies focused on the original topic. Start a new thread for unrelated discussions. 8) If you encounter inappropriate behaviour, do not engage. Instead, report it to the list administrator at mailman-owner@listserver.vu.nl. Repeated violations of the guidelines may result in removal from the list. The list administrator reserves the right to enforce rules, and remove members who violate the guidelines.
