[Topology.beta] Arbeitsgemeinschaft

Dear all,

Thank you for filling in the planner. We have picked a time for the Arbeitsgemeinschaft: Thursdays 15:00-16:30. Most weeks we will not use the full timeslot.

The first meeting is on September 15.

The first goal will be to read Kuiper’s paper on the homotopy type of the unitary group in Hilbert space. This is a short paper.

I will give the first talk which in which I will introduce some peculiarities in infinite dimensional topology and how Kuiper’s theorem fits into that picture and why I think the theorem is important.

We will also discuss how to divvy up the work.
