[staff-physics-and-astronomy-HL-UHD-UD] Project control will update projects budgets

Dear all,

Projectcontrol will update the budgets on all running projects as well as all projects in the process of application. There are two reasons for this


  1.  Indexation of salaries will from now on be exactly similar to the cao indexations instead of an estimated increase by NWO (which was used until now). This has a negative effect, as all the projects had too low indexation percentages for salaries.
  2.  The indexation of KDM is set at 0%. This means no further increase in overhead is expected (this was 3.78% per year). This has a positive effect on projects.

The combined effect will be different for individual projects. Some will be affected positively, others negatively. When the combined effect is negative, your project controller should reach out to you to discuss what can be done to absorb the loss or whether an own contribution is needed. Karin and I will also discuss with Susanti during our weekly meeting to find out what the effect is for our department and which projects are affected most heavily.
