Dear Anne,

This is such very sad news. I have known Beate since the 1980s when she was still active with the IAF in Germany and I with an orgnisation of mixed couples in the Netherlands. I have met her at meetings across Euope ever since.  She has been so important as an academic as well as to the community of mixed couples  in Europe, and was a very kind person. she will be very much missed.
I wish you and all her loved ones all the best in these difficult times.

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great sadness that I write to let you know that our dear Colleague, Beate Collet passed away recently after a long illness. Beate was a supportive and encouraging scholar, with such an amazing breadth and depth of knowledge.

I know I will not be alone in missing her very much as a colleague and friend.

We, the members of her family, friends, colleagues, doctoral students and students are devastated by this loss and wish to honor Beate's memory by following her wishes. She didn't want flowers or wreaths, but wanted us to have the opportunity to donate to a Senegalese association supported by her daughter Tikam.
