[Topology.beta] Summary Introductory Meeting Seminar on Diffeomorphism Groups

Many thanks to all of you who joined the introductory meeting of the seminar on Diffeomorphism Groups today!

I attach a pdf with a road map of the seminar together with the dates and the list of speakers.

There is still a lot of space if you want to give a talk, since we can pair you up with another person in a given slot (anybody fancying joining Albert, for instance?). Just drop me a line, if you want to jump in! I also attach the book (https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/guuq22m0mxkqgut3c3zvk/Banyaga-The-Structure-of-Classical-Diffeomorphism-Groups.pdf?rlkey=1oponczve8iew098iz0tg8zu6&dl=0) we are going to read and some more bibliographical references.

The book is good in giving us a clear path to follow but it is sloppy at times so feel free to search the internet for other sources (as nice introduction to the simplicity conjecture, I recommend for instance the paper by Cristofaro-Gardiner, Humiliere and Seyfaddini).

If you are giving a talk and you want to discuss or something is not clear, just drop me a message and we can meet to look at it together. Each session will be divided into two 45-minute parts with a short break in the middle.

The next session will be on September 23 at 11:00 in NU-09A46 and on zoom. We will revise some background about diffeos, vector fields, and differential forms, and look at examples.
