Dear Sir/Madam,

IT has implemented a new storage infrastructure for SciStor with, amongst other things, added security features. The use of EduVPN Institute Access will become mandatory when working with your SciStor data because this enables the use of Multi Factor Authentication (MFA). When we first communicated about this mandatory use of EduVPN in March of this year we received feedback about the maximum session length that is allowed. The current setting is 12 hours, after which you have to authenticate again with MFA, and this was deemed too short by some. IT would like to come into contact with those colleagues who are hampered in their work because of this. We need to find a balance between security and functionality and it would be very helpful if IT is able to discuss the reasons for a possible change.
