Beste collega’s,
Wij willen jullie graag vragen kandidaten voor te dragen voor de interne selectieprocedure voor zowel de Comenius Leadership Fellow 2027 als de Nederlandse Onderwijsprijs 2027. Deze prestigieuze onderscheidingen ondersteunen en erkennen uitzonderlijke onderwijsinnovaties die direct ten goede komen aan studenten in het Nederlandse hoger onderwijs.
Comenius Leadership Fellow 2027
Ervaren onderwijsprofessionals kunnen een subsidie van €500.000 aanvragen om een onderwijsinnovatie te implementeren binnen één of meerdere faculteiten of op institutioneel niveau. Per instelling kan slechts één voorstel worden ingediend, waarvoor een interne nominatieprocedure noodzakelijk is. De VU Comenius/NOP-jury selecteert de beste aanvraag.
Belangrijk: de resultaten voor de Comenius Leadership Fellow 2026 zijn nog niet bekend en worden in mei 2026 bekendgemaakt. Dit betekent dat voorstellen die in deze fase worden ingediend mogelijk niet worden meegenomen in de aankomende selectie, mocht de VU dit jaar de Comenius Leadership Fellow toegekend krijgen. Houd hier alstublieft rekening mee.
Nederlandse Onderwijsprijs 2027
De Nederlandse Onderwijsprijs is de hoogste onderscheiding in het middelbaar beroepsonderwijs (MBO), hoger beroepsonderwijs (HBO) en wetenschappelijk onderwijs (WO). De prijs erkent onderwijsteams die in de afgelopen zes jaar een significante verbetering in het onderwijs hebben gerealiseerd. De totale €7,5 miljoen premie wordt als volgt verdeeld:
· Eerste prijs: €1,2 miljoen
· Tweede prijs: €800.000
· Derde prijs: €500.000
Elke instelling mag slechts één voorstel indienen, waardoor een interne selectieprocedure vereist is.
Interne voorselectieprocedure
· Elke faculteit mag één aanvraag indienen voor de VU-brede selectie, met uitzondering van de Faculteit der Bètawetenschappen, die er twee mag indienen.
* Nominaties dienen uiterlijk 8 mei 2026 worden ingediend bij onderwijsbeleid.beta at vu.nl<mailto:onderwijsbeleid.beta at vu.nl>. De facultaire selectiecommissie kiest welke kandidaten worden ingediend bij de centrale jury.
· De VU Comenius & NOP-jury beoordeelt vervolgens de concepten en selecteert de genomineerde voor het NRO. Kandidaten krijgen de mogelijkheid om een weerwoord in te dienen op basis van feedback voordat de definitieve selectie plaatsvindt. De gekozen kandidaat kan vervolgens het voorstel verder uitwerken met ondersteuning van het CTL voor de definitieve indiening.

Richtlijnen voor conceptaanvragen
Dien een ingevulde conceptaanvraag in bij de nominatie. Dit format volgt de 2026 NRO-nominatie en bevat de kernonderdelen. De geselecteerde kandidaat kan het voorstel verder verfijnen tot een volledige aanvraag zodra de oproep voor 2027 en het officiële formulier worden vrijgegeven.

Vul het volledige formulier in. Wees bondig, maar zorg ervoor dat alle vereiste details per onderdeel zijn opgenomen. Sla geen secties over.
Instructies voor de Comenius Leadership-aanvraag
Vul alleen de koppen 4 en 5 in. De overige secties hoeven niet te worden ingevuld. Richt uw antwoorden op deze koppen en geef duidelijke, gedetailleerde en relevante informatie.

Belangrijk: Een kandidaat kan alleen worden voorgedragen als er niet eerder een winnaar van de instelling is geweest. Als VU bevestigen wij dit pas nadat onze interne procedure is gestart; wij informeren u hier tijdig over.

Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit nominees for the internal selection process for both the Comenius Leadership Fellow 2027 and the Dutch Education Award 2027. These prestigious awards support and recognize outstanding educational innovations that directly benefit students in Dutch higher education.
Comenius Leadership Fellow 2027
Experienced education professionals can apply for a grant of €500,000 to implement an educational innovation within one or more faculties or at the institutional level. Each institution may submit only one proposal, requiring an internal nomination round. The VU Comenius/NOP jury will select the best application.
The results for the Comenius Leadership Fellow 2026 are not yet known and will be announced in May 2026. This means that proposals submitted at this stage may not be included in the upcoming selection, should VU be awarded the Comenius Leadership Fellow this year. Please take this into account.
Dutch Education Award 2027
The Dutch Education Award is the highest distinction in Dutch secondary vocational education (MBO), higher professional education (HBO), and university education (WO). It acknowledges teams that have significantly improved education over the past six years. The total €7.5 million premium is divided as follows:
· First prize: €1.2 million
· Second prize: €800,000
· Third prize: €500,000

Internal Pre-selection Process
· Each faculty may submit one application for the VU-wide selection, except the Faculty of Science, which may submit two.
* Nominations must be submitted to onderwijsbeleid.beta at vu.nl<mailto:onderwijsbeleid.beta at vu.nl> by May 8, 2026. The faculty selection committee will select the BETA nominations and submit these to the VU jury.
* The VU Comenius & NOP jury will evaluate the drafts and select the nominee for the NRO. Candidates will have the opportunity to submit a rebuttal based on feedback before the final selection. The chosen nominee will then refine their proposal with CTL support before final submission.

Important: For the Comenius Leadership Fellow - a candidate can only be submitted if there has been no previous winner from the institution. As VU, we confirm this only after our internal process has started and will notify you accordingly.
