REGISTRATION OPEN
Sustainable Energy Materials Symposium – June 19, 2026
Dear all,
We kindly invite you to join us for AMOLF’s annual Sustainable Energy Materials Symposium on Friday, June 19, 2026, in Amsterdam.
This year’s symposium, co-organized by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, will be centered on the theme “Light for driving and monitoring chemical reactions.”
The symposium will bring together the Dutch sustainable energy community to highlight recent advances in photocatalysis and related fields, spanning topics from single-particle photocatalytic and optical studies to operando thermometry and reaction monitoring of plasmonic photocatalysis.
Program
The symposium features the following keynote speakers:
* Kallie Willets (Temple University, Philadelphia): Visualizing light-driven reactions on single plasmonic nanostructures
* Peter Zijlstra (TU Eindhoven): Monitoring plasmon-enhanced processes at the single-molecule level
* Andrea Pickel (University of Texas, Austin): Probing Thermal Contributions to Plasmonic Photocatalysis with Dual-Mode Operando Thermometry and Reaction Monitoring
* Pascal Buskens (TNO): From plasmonic catalysts to pilot scale process demonstrators for photothermal CO2 conversion – what is technically and economically feasible?
Visit the event webpage<https://amolf.nl/sem2026> for abstracts of their talks.
The program includes poster presentations and a panel discussion.
Arrival starts at 09:15. The program runs from 09:50 to 16:30, followed by drinks, providing an opportunity for further discussion and networking.
→ Sign up for the symposium by completing the registration form<https://c.spotler.com/ct/m4/k1/Dw-w0bOzL9y3aSDmQFCXcJQFhtbVKQJlFzJx0CbO7PSSQJp15nxeJGIsNvZuVpYYdqUIjYvfdusP33Y6_888B2tyRaSuu9vAH4Q_W9QdN5xnjzuqTAeQOMfMYDR_vHmR/GZZmhGhGK6GJGna>
Registration closes on Jun 12, 2026.
Location
The symposium registration and talks will take place at the Amsterdam Science Park Congress Center, Science Park 125 in Amsterdam.
For lunch and drinks we will go to AMOLF, Science Park 104 in Amsterdam.
This location is easily accessible by public transportation as well as by car or bicycle.
