Dear All,

we are excited to announce the first iteration of the "Amsterdam Imaging Hub Symposium" in an attempt to extend the Science Park Symposia to the entire imaging community present in Amsterdam. The symposium will take place as an all-day event on the 20th of February at the "Onderzoeksgebouw VU". We are planning to host a set of five broad-audience speakers from different fields comprising: astronomy, cultural heritage, materials, biology and the clinic as well as a poster session to foster interaction.

To provide some background, we are trying to build a broad network/community of people that work, or are interested, in fields related to developing, using and applying imaging technologies in a broad sense: advanced instruments, algorithms, software or analysis pipelines. Both developers and potential users that bring imaging challenges are invited to join.

The main goal of the Amsterdam Imaging Hub Symposium is community building:

  * We would like to obtain a clear overview of the different ecosystems in Amsterdam.
  * Make important connections and then use this input to improve the hub and plan follow-up events that cater to everyone.
  * Establish an Amsterdam-wide lecture series that regularly hosts speakers covering different topics of imaging and/or applications of imaging in a broad sense and make this series available as a means of training and continuous networking for MSc and PhD students as well as postdocs/PIs.
  * Recruit additional members from different disciplines to support the organisation of a truly interdisciplinary network

Please kindly register using the following link and feel free to forward this email to interested colleagues. We would like to reach as many people as possible.
