Dear colleagues,

As mentioned yesterday at the staff lunch, the mock interview for the research visitation of our department (which takes place 2-4 Feb 2026) has been scheduled for Thursday 22nd January, starting at 12:30 at Spectrum 5.

All PIs are welcome to attend if they are available (even if themselves are not taking part in the interviews with the committee) to provide feedback to our colleagues. So if you can free a couple hours in your busy schedule to help us with this, it would be most appreciated.

In preparation for this mock visitation, you can find here the material that has been sent to the committee:

including the Terms of Reference, the Self-Evaluation Report, and the SEP protocol. In particular the SER is short and a very nice reading, so please take a look beforehand. There will no slides or any other material: in each session the committee will start directly with the questions.

I attach the final program of the research visitation on 2-4 Feb 2026. During our mock visitation we will follow more or less this scheme, but we will allow for extra time to gather feedback between the sessions.

The schedule is (all times include time for discussion after the interview)

12:30 to 13:30 => Meeting with the P&A management team, LaserLaB director and five heads of the P&A research sections.

15:40 - 16:30 => Meeting with P&A focused on valorization and impact.
