OSCA<https://osc-international.com/osc-amsterdam/> (Open Science Community Amsterdam) asked to put some extra attention to the OSCA Awards 2026, so VU Amsterdam is nicely represented.

Are you involved in great open science practices, or do you know of researchers championing open science that deserve praise (and a cash prize)? Submit them for the OSCA awards 2026! There is always a good chance to win, as we’re keeping it local with UvA, HvA and AUMC. In addition, there will be a nice ceremony in the brand new library of the UvA. If there are open science awards within your faculty, we would greatly appreciate if all submissions can also be submitted for the OSCA awards.

OSCA Awards 2026
The fourth annual OSCAWARDS<https://vu.nl/en/news/2026/call-for-entry-oscawards-2026-nominate-open-science-projects-deadline-may-11>, organized by the Open Science Community Amsterdam, is open for submissions. Researchers, educators, support staff, and students are invited to submit their completed or ongoing projects that contribute to this mission. We also welcome teachers to nominate their students’ projects and encourage colleagues to nominate the work of others.
The categories are:

  1.  Open access/ Open data/ Open materials/ Open software
  2.  Transparency/ Metascience/ Preregistration/ Reproducibility
  3.  Citizen science/ Societal impact/ Community engagement
  4.  Open educational resources/ Open educational practices
