The taalcentrum organizes an academic writing course tailored specifically for physics PhD students, to be held either in May/June or October/November. There are still places available for the May/June session.
I would kindly ask you to encourage your students to sign up for the course. Please note that this course will become mandatory for new PhD students and will also include the plagiarism check required by the faculty.
For your reference, I have included below the email previously sent to all students in the department.

There are still (too many) spots available for the May/June academic writing course. The course is now planned to have 4 meetings, taking place on Thursday May 7, May 21, June 11, and July 2, from 14:00–17:00. If you are in your 2nd year (or higher) of your PhD trajectory and have not yet followed a writing course at this level, please consider this course as it will help you greatly in making a start on your thesis. Please contact me if you are interested!

Dear all,
The Graduate School of Physics will organize an academic writing course tailored to physics PhD students. The goal of the course is to encourage you to start writing early in your PhD trajectory and to receive feedback from both experienced teachers and your peers. The aim is to write a first draft of the introduction to your thesis.
The course is ideally suited for students in the 2nd year of their PhD trajectory, but it is also open to more senior students. It consists of five meetings on May 7 and 21, and June 4, 11, and 25, from 14:00–17:00. A second course will likely be organized in the fall; exact details will follow. If you are interested in taking this course, please send me an email by Tuesday, February 23 at the latest. Please indicate if you prefer to follow the course in May/June or in the fall.
