Dear all,

Next week, I will send out my yearly email to PhD students in our department to make an inventory of their completed and planned teaching activities.

For teachers:
If you are looking for PhD students to assist in courses within the BSc/MSc programs offered by the Physics Department this academic year, please post a vacancy on the Teams page:

(or send it to me and I will post it) When posting, please include: course content, number of ECs, required background knowledge, language of instruction and other relevant details.
I will direct PhD students who have not yet fulfilled their teaching requirements to check this page. Note that PhD students who speak Dutch will be preferentially assigned to the Physics Practicum. Please consult the program director regarding the appropriate number of TAs for your course.

For supervisors of PhD students:
Please discuss teaching opportunities with your PhD students and help them find a suitable task. Ideally, a teaching plan should be defined at the start of the PhD trajectory as part of the TSP.

Rules and hours:
Please find attached the updated rules. The document is the same as last year, with one change: instead of a bandwidth of hours, we now state fixed numbers (as most students simply picked the maximum previously). The new guidelines are:

  *   6EC tutorial: 120 hours
  *
6EC lab course: 240 hours
  *
This means PhD students are expected to complete either four 6EC tutorials or two 6EC lab courses to reach the required minimum of 420 hours.
