On Thursday, 20 November 2025, VU Amsterdam will celebrate its 145th Dies Natalis. This year's theme is A Broader Mind in a Divided World. We are honoured that political scientist Séverine Autesserre will deliver the Dies lecture. She is a professor at Columbia University and an international expert in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

During this academic celebration, we will reflect on the role of the university in a time where moral, social, and ecological challenges are becoming ever more pressing worldwide.
