Dear all,
Please see below a message from the VU Grants Office (IXA-GO) regarding information sessions by IXA-GO in cooperation with RVO:
The European Commission promotes science and innovation in Europe with the Horizon Europe grant programme. The EC challenges industry and academia to come up with joint solutions to societal issues across Europe. This matches nicely with the VU mission. Horizon Europe offers significant opportunities for our researchers to secure funding for ambitious and impactful projects. We want to maximise the success of our scientists in these calls. This is why we invited RVO to come to VU and inform us about the programmes' priorities and processes. Soon, the 2025 Work Programmes will be finalised and opened. Now is a good time to promote the excellent grant opportunities offered by the calls and topics within the VU research community. We believe that these information sessions provide a great starting point and valuable guidance for our researchers to effectively engage with Horizon Europe.
IXA-GO, in cooperation with RVO, is organising a series of information sessions in April and May, focused on the consortium grants and thematic EU funding programmes. These meetings will provide insights into the calls in pillar 2 of Horizon Europe in particular. During the POs, we already announced this information series and asked you to make it fit well with VU's profile and the various domains. Therefore, we have organized four sessions (sign up here<https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=nJwqRqYt-0uzGA-DBD_km7jrtKKcDc1Nvcs8_H6ybhxUNFJYQkRHOEZRQlVQWEVBMFFYVkJMUlg5UiQlQCN0PWcu&route=shorturl>):
* Friday 11 April from 10:00-12:00: Cluster 1 (Health), Mission Cancer, EU4Health
* Wednesday 7 May from 10:00-11:30: Cluster 2 (Culture, creativity, and inclusive society) and Cluster 3 (Civil security)
* Thursday 22 May from 10:00-11:30: Cluster 4 (Digital), Digital Europe, Research Infrastructure, EIC Pathfinder/Transition
* Monday 14 April from 10:00-15:00: Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy), Missions and Cluster 6 (Food, bio-economy, natural resources, environment)
The programme for each of these sessions includes an introduction to Horizon Europe (its policies, priorities, strategic orientations, destinations (‘destinations’) and calls) and specific information on the relevant Clusters and Work Programmes. The sessions will also provide valuable tips and do's & don'ts for building a consortium and developing a concept application. More information and signing up can be found at the IXA-GO website<https://vunl.sharepoint.com/sites/ResearchFundingValorisation/SitePages/Workshop-and-Training-Events-Calendar.aspx>.
To ensure that we reach as many researchers as possible with these sessions, we ask you to act as ambassadors of these sessions by doing the following:
* Actively supporting and promoting these RFO information sessions among researchers within the faculty (e.g. disseminating information through faculty newsletters, forwarding this email, through internal communication channels and during faculty meetings);
* Encouraging research groups and individual researchers to attend these sessions. Emphasising the value of direct contact with National Contact Points and the opportunity to gain insight into the new 2025 work programmes would be helpful;
* Advise researchers planning to submit a Horizon Europe proposal as coordinators to contact IXA-GO, VU Grants Office (subsidiedesk at vu.nl<mailto:subsidiedesk at vu.nl>) for additional support from grant advisers, impact managers and business developers;
* Consider providing resources or time for researchers to attend these sessions and subsequently develop their proposals.
By actively supporting and encouraging researchers' participation in these RFO sessions, the Faculty Board can play a crucial role in increasing VU's success rate in securing Horizon Europe funding. Please join us in working together to strengthen our research potential and impact!
Best,
Jordi
