Dear all,

Our current LabVIEW license will expire on October 3, 2023.

Below email was sent to all email addresses that were registered as our LabVIEW license users in the database of NI (National Instruments).
Please, check in your groups if you use this license, and please be aware that the old license will not be active after the 3rd of October. If you need to use LabVIEW license also in the future, inform us before 14th of September. After that we will place our new order.

Renewal of LabVIEW licenses from October 3, 2023

The National Instruments LabVIEW (and Multisim) Academic Volume License we had (installation allowed for up to 3000 licenses, 1000 licenses allowed to be used simultaneously) at 23,716 euros/year will cost 56,265 euros/year if we renew it for next year. A check on the use showed that last year licenses were installed on about 350 computers. If we would take 150 LV Teaching (allowed for teaching purposes only), 250 LV Teaching & Research and 25 Multisim licenses it would still add up to 52,225 euros/year. We want to reduce this amount substantially.

The simplest way would be is to only get a limited number of LV Teaching & Research AVL licenses and to build executables of programs to run on various computers where needed rather than to install the LabVIEW Development System on each and every computer.

You receive this message because according to NI you activated a license on one or several computers either last year (or maintained an active license on one or several computers activated earlier).

The price of a LabVIEW Teaching/Research AVL license is 310 euros (excluding 21% tax). We want to place one order because of the discount offered: 20% for 10-24 licenses, 30% for 25-99 licenses and 40% for 100-199 licenses. The number of computers you can install LabVIEW on is 3 times the number of licenses you get but you can only use a license one at the time.

If you want to avail of licenses please reply to Marja Herronen before September 14 and inform her how many licenses you need. You will be charged for your licenses!
The present licenses will be deactivated after October 3, 2023.
