Beste Johannes en Jordi,

In aanvulling op mijn vorige mail hebben we nog een oproep binnengekregen voor voordrachten voor de Bakhuis Roozeboom Medal die door de KNAW wordt uitgereikt aan “Researchers from all over the world who have made a pioneering contribution to phase theory. Research in this field concerns the phase behaviour of matter in classical or quantum systems and/or non-equilibrium phases in dynamic systems.” Omdat het heel specifiek is, stuur ik deze alleen naar jullie door. Onderzoekers kunnen zelf ook indienen.

De deadline is vrij kort: 1 augustus al. De oproep is via een omweg bij ons binnengekomen, daarom heeft het relatief lang geduurd voordat we het konden doorsturen.

Every four years, the Academy awards the Bakhuis Roozeboom Medal to a researcher who has made a significant contribution to phase theory. The Bakhuis Roozeboom Medal was established in 1911 in recognition of the work of physicist and Academy member Professor H.W. Bakhuis Roozeboom (1854-1907).
Who is eligible?
Researchers from all over the world who have made a pioneering contribution to phase theory. Research in this field concerns the phase behaviour of matter in classical or quantum systems and/or non-equilibrium phases in dynamic systems.

The Bakhuis Roozeboom Medal has predominantly had male candidates in its history. The Academy therefore strongly encourages you to also consider women in science who deserve to be recognized for their work through this Medal.

Who may submit a nomination?
Nominations from all over the world may be submitted by:

  1.  Executive boards and deans of universities
  2.  Directors of scientific research institutions
  3.  Academies and other scientific institutions
  4.  Individual researchers at universities and scientific research institutions
