Dear all,

Next month, the short-listed candidates for the Mechanical Engineering 
Assistant Professor positions will be giving public research lectures 
open to all interested colleagues.

The list of speakers and topics is the following:

Monday May 8th

and thermal energy systems
15.00 - 15.45 lecture Yashar Hajimolana - Sustainable Energy technologies

Thursday May 11th

14.00 - 14.45 lecture Boukje de Gooijer - Applications of Bayesian 
modeling based optimisation
15.00 - 15.45 lecture Sven Askes - Light-controlled nanoscale targeted 
heating & chemistry using next-gen nanomaterials

Wednesday May 17th
O2 Auditorium 00E70
13.45-14.30 lecture Joris van Heijningen  - Gravitational waves and 
Einstein Telescope (preliminary title)

Our secretariat will send invites for these lectures, and everyone 
interested is more than welcome to attend them.

In addition, the candidates will be available to meet with the PIs of 
N&S (and of other departments) to discuss possible research synergies. 
If you would like to talk to any of the five ME UD candidates, please 
contact Gerhard Raven and Andrea Baldi who will be acting as contact 
points for this.
