Dear Staff members,

As you might or might not know, the department requires you to put part of your salary on ERC StG/CoG/AdG and NWO Veni/Vidi/Vici grants.
To clarify in writing the message of the MT during the full staff meeting, for the moment we have the following policy:

For every ERC StG/CoG/AdG and NWO Veni/Vidi/Vici from our PERMANENT staff (including tenure track), we expect that the applicant charges 50% of his/her salary to the grant, up to a maximum of EUR50k/year. So the solidarity tax is defined as tax = max(EUR50k/year , 50% of yearly salary)

We will review this policy in the near future. However, without a department manager and insight in the changes of the policy on our department financial health, we can not modify this standing policy on short notice.

If there will be changes, we will strive to make the current applicants whole (without a promise to do so).
