[Senior-staff-physics-and-astronomy] Input needed: synergies between Mechanical Engineering and the Dept of Physics & Astronomy

Dear all,

You are all aware of the involvement of our department in the UT-VU
Mechanical Engineering (ME) program. This program is now well on track.
At the same time the Department of Physics & Astronomy (DPA) would like
to further explore possible synergies between the DPA and ME, concerning
education as well as scientific research.

To obtain a complete overview, the DPA depends on your input. I would
therefore like to ask you to suggest Physics or ME research topics that
in your opinion could provide a link between the DPA and ME, and how
these can be realised within the current research sections.
