We at the „Learning Empire. Autonomy, Dependence, and China’s Emerging Imperial Practices” research group are looking to fill a position for a:
Data Analyst in Collaborative Research Project (Political Science) with China focus (m/f/d)
This is a 2.5 year position (pay grade TV E9-E12, 100%) that contributes to all projects in the research group and is based at Constructor University in Bremen, Germany.
The Learning Empire research unit is a large-scale effort to study China's changing international practices under the conditions of a world order in transition, funded by the German Research Foundation DFG. It includes eight projects across leading German universities and research institutions and supports early-career researchers.
We seek a candidate with experience in social science data analysis to support the research unit in data collection, visualization and management. Core tasks include collecting and standardizing datasets through web scraping/crawling, financial data terminals and/or AI-assisted methods, preparing data for social science repositories, and developing visualizations, maps, and infographics for research and science communication, and train research group members in data management skills.
