Dear CHERN Members,

this is a reminder to the invitation to apply as a speaker for the next edition of the CHERN Online Briefing.

Do you conduct research on China - Europe? Have you recently published or worked in some other form on this topic? We are inviting you to introduce your results to the wider public.

CHERN has set out to facilitate the exchange among researchers, journalists, and policymakers: CHERN Online Briefings. The Online Briefing provides an opportunity to give a brief data-driven insight into the topic.

Compared to last year, the format of the CHERN Online Briefing has slightly changed. Instead of a live event, we record a short briefing clip, publish it on the CHERN YouTube channel and website, and share it through our channels with journalists and policymakers. Within the clip, you will get the opportunity to pitch your research results or relevant experience within five minutes. Your contact details will be included, so if journalists want to pursue a certain topic further, they can contact you on a one-on-one basis.

Practicals:

  * To apply as a speaker, please, fill in this sign-up form<https://forms.gle/es4q1xRoaUfGsn3Y9> 12 September 2025. In case there are too many applicants, we will need to select along relevance to the topic in focus – you will be informed about our decision by 19 September 2025.
  * The recording of the clips will be scheduled somewhere in October 2025.
  * As you need to be very succinct, we also offer a short training session before the event.

For reference, take a look at the recording of our first event on the China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement: https://china-in-europe.net/chern-online-briefing-the-cina-serbia-free-trade-agreement/

We also welcome any additional questions or suggestions, so feel free to reach out.

Thank you in advance and best regards,
Alexandra, Jelena and Agota
