Dear all,
Today, I had a phone call with GEMA.
We also discussed the cooperation with GEMA briefly during the review meeting in Amsterdam.
It seems that the way to proceed is to sign a NDA. The template of GEMA's NDA is attached, but we can change things of course.
The information to be shared concerns the outcomes of the retail living labs first, but might include other things in the future (e.g. regarding the business ecosystem under development).
I would like to ask you the following:
@All partners: - please check the NDA for any issues that should be addressed. Please let me know in two weeks (before 28th of june) if you can agree with the NDA
@Lima:
- please check the NDA with the legal department of the VU, and
- check who needs to sign: all partners or just the VU as coordinator.

we have just completed the final phase of our empirical study with 150 retailers and the results show that our efforts have paid off. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
We are pleased about the positive feedback that we can be added to your project as an associate partner. Please find attached our template NDA.
I will also write to Peeter Verlegh and Vani Pillay because we have not yet received any feedback on our literature work. In case, it's because the NDA is not yet in place, we look forward to completing the legal part and starting our collaboration soon.

Dear Sonja and Johannes,
Coincidentally, I had contact with the EU project officer.
The plan now is at follows:
- first have a NDA between Music360 and GEMA. This would allow the both of us to exchange materials, participate in meetings, and share deliverables. Perhaps GEMA has a template for this that is useful, otherwise I can one of the partners. Please let me know.
- entering the project as Associated Partner. This does not imply funding from the EU (they never change the funding) but gives a formal status. We think for the both of us, this is beneficial.
Please let me know your thoughts, so that we can put things into motion.

I am the project manager of GEMA's Music Impact Study, which examines the economic value of background music. Mr. Gordijn and Mr. Everding, Director of our Business Development Directorate, discussed the similarities between the Music360 study and our Music Impact Study at a meeting in Amsterdam.
We are looking forward to our further cooperation and would like to start with the exchange of a few initial documents as agreed.
Before we developed our study design, we did extensive research into the most relevant, highly ranked studies of recent decades. The summary of the most important studies and the essence of these you'll find in the attached literature study. In return, we are also very interested in your study research and look forward to receiving your findings.
The research and subsequent of the literature study was carried out by the scientist Dr. Anne Michel, who is our leading scientific advisor for the Music Impact Study.
As we have just carried out a field study with a number of retail businesses and there are similarities to your Finnish shopping center study, we would like to know also more about your experiences, your study concept, methods and results of this lab study.

Dear Mrs Schönfeld,
To inform you about the status: I have asked the EU project officer how we can shape the cooperation with GEMA. My proposal to her was to add GEMA to the project as associate partner but I have to wait for her answer. The consortium is positive about this.
Meanwhile, content-wise, the best way is to contact Vani Pillay. She is the PhD candidate at our university doing the experiments (and part of the marketing research department). Peeter Verlegh is the professor of that department. Both are in the cc, feel free to contact them.

it was a real pleasure to get to know your colleagues and see you in Amsterdam. It was for me a very fruitful meeting. Please excuse my Email in Dutch before...my wife was very angry with me, as my use of the translator was wrong and some formulation were quite rude.
Key findings:
* A potential association of GEMA in the music 360° study would not just make sense, but would be necessary for sharing information. Your support is more than welcome and I thank you for your frank position. Even when GEMA will not be part of the platform-solution, could both ends benefit from a formal cooperation. It is clearly understood that there would be no financial participation in the grants of music360 for GEMA.
* The current (100 NL shops/ Finland malls) and planed experiments (supermarkets Spain) are very interesting for GEMA and we would love to learn from your findings when shareable
* The mutual sharing of the literature studies are beneficial for both sides and I will prioritize.
* The opportunity to communicate with the 360-CMOs before our CISAC meeting in Athens (17th of April) will be helpful and could help both sides.
* The study in Finish regarding background music would be awesome to have and we would love to pick its bones.

* Associated partnership GEMA - Please send me any documentation/ contract drafts for our concrete consideration.
