[VU ML Seminar] Next meeting: Foundation Models for Laboratory Data

Our next speaker is Majid Lotfian Delouee, who will talk about LabGPT: Foundation Models for Laboratory Data.

Majid is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Translational AI Lab<https://trailab.nl/> <https://trailab.nl/> (TrAIL) in Laboratory Medicine at Amsterdam UMC. In this presentation, he will discuss how foundation models can be developed and applied within the medical domain, considering the unique challenges of healthcare data, such as privacy, heterogeneity, and limited accessibility. The talk will explore the potential of learned embeddings for detecting rare diseases within latent representations, methods for evaluating embedding quality with respect to data and downstream tasks, and several open research questions surrounding the pretraining of foundation models in clinical contexts.

The meeting will take place on Monday 10 Nov. at 10:00 in room NU-5A27. We hope to see many of you there!
