We noticed that not everyone feels obliged to be present at the group seminars / colloquium.</div>

We would like to clarify our expectations. We expect you to be present at such activities. Incidentally it can happen that you can't make it, but please do not schedule anything on Tuesdays 11-12:30, and the relevant friday afternoons. When you get your teaching
schedule, please check and try to reschedule your teaching so it does not coincide with these activities. </div>

We do think that some reading courses can be too far from someone's research (e.g. The diffeomorphism group stuff is maybe too far from a TDA PhD, and vice versa with the Laplace reading group for a homotopy theorist), but you should discuss with your supervisor
if you intend not to participate with such an activity. </div>
