[Topology.beta] First Talk of the Seminar Diffeomorphism Groups and Shifted Schedule

This is a reminder that this Tuesday, Sep 23 at 11:00 in NU-09A46 at the VU and online at https://vu-live.zoom.us/j/99134747510?pwd=5by9w5TVDWVlnLEkXxaAcdwPRfPw4j.1 we have the first talk of the Diffeomorphism Groups Seminar.

Albert Buxó Velasco and I will talk about Chapter 1of Banyaga’s book. We give a general introduction to the group of standard/symplectic/volume-preserving diffeomorphisms and present a linearized version of the perfectness theorem at the level of the Lie algebra of the diffeomorphism groups.

There was a small change in the schedule. On Tuesday Sep 30 at 11:00-11:45, Joris Kirchner from TU Delft will talk about Extending persistent barcodes with information captured by persistent Laplacians<https://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:ba33f2b8-5687-42fe-909d-23f4c3adf85b> in the CTAAAG seminar.

Therefore, we are shifting the reading seminar slots forward and the talk of Rolf and Deborah is now scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 7. You can have a look at the new schedule here https://www.few.vu.nl/~trt800/arbeitsgemeinschaft.html (beware that later on talks might be shifted by more than a week because the schedule of the talks in the CTAAAG is fixed). If you are speaker of the reading seminar and the new seminar schedule does not fit your personal schedule anymore, please let me know.

Notice also that Albert and I might use the time slot 12:00-12:30 on Tuesday Sep 30 after Joris’ talk in case we don’t finish all the material of the first talk of the reading seminar this week. We will let you know if this is the case in the next announcement.
