<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="en-NL" style="font-size:12.0pt">Recently, awareness has grown at VU Amsterdam that collaborations, which are permitted under legislation and regulations, are not always desirable from the perspective of human rights and armed
conflicts. That is why the assessment framework “Risks related to human rights violations and armed conflicts” has been developed. The framework, which formally came into effect on 1 September 2025 and will be widely applied within VU Amsterdam, is a living
document and will be adjusted as necessary based on new insights and experiences. On this page, you will find an overview of the working method and answers to frequently asked questions:

questions must be answered (attachment “2B Uitgebreide Vragenlijst Kennisveiligheid.pdf”).

and the departmental management team should be informed. The faculty board will then make a decision. In complex cases, the Knowledge Security contact persons will reach out to their central counterparts (in which case it might take some more time before they
