Dear all,

Following the April staff lunch meeting, we would like to offer everyone the opportunity to purchase an LLM subscription of their choice for one year. This possibility has led to questions from some of you regarding the possibility of extending this offer to PhD candidates and postdocs as well. We understand this wish, and therefore we would like to make the following available, funded from our regular department budget (and not from the Horizon Europe matching funds; leaving more funds available for the ‘Physics XS’ grants):

- 1 subscription of your choice for one year for each PI
- 1 subscription of your choice for one year for your group

The latter does, however, mean that PhD candidates and postdocs will have to share a subscription. Depending on the type of subscription, there might be an option to purchase multiple seats within one subscription. We currently consider an individual subscription for each individual PhD candidate and postdoc as too much for the department to cover. Everyone is, of course, free to purchase these for their respective groupmembers themselves from another budget.

The MT would like to know and approve the various subscriptions beforehand. Therefore, please send to Juan, Oscar, Laura and Karin the two subscriptions you would like to buy. After their approval, you can purchase and reimburse the subscription. Please buy a 1-year subscription (not the monthly one).

The deadline for this offer is the current calendar year (2026), as we need to incur the costs this year.
