[staff-physics-and-astronomy-HL-UHD-UD] Reminder : Access to VO for students

Dear all, just as a reminder : if any bachelor or master students need access to our floors and / or labs , we need the following information to grant a student access to VO:


  *   Name
  *    VU net ID
  *    VU card registration number (found on the back of the student card)
  *   Supervisor
  *   Start date
  *   End date
  *   Access to offices and/or labs
  *   Reason for access

The process is as followed:

  1.  Students who uploaded a photo during registration automatically received a student card, including Joint Degree students. This is arranged through the student desk. Studentenbalie Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam -<https://vu.nl/nl/onderwijs/meer-over/studentenbalie-vrije-universiteit-amsterdam> . This student card will be used to grant access to VO.
  2.  Students who do nót have a VU Student card need to request one a.s.a.p. Access can only be arranged thru this card.
  3.  For access to VO, students must have their card encoded at Access Management. We will submit a request for this.
  4.  Students must then visit Access Management in the Main Building (HG KC-06) and bring their VU card and a valid ID. The desk is open on Monday till Friday between 09.00 and  13.00.
  5.  Students become visible in Salto and can be added by the secretariat to the access groups for offices and/or labs per section.
  6.  All cards have an expiration date in the system. If the expiration date changes, the cards must be updated.

To do this, please let us know whether you have a VU Student Card.

  *   If you have a VU Student Card:

Location: VU Main Building (HG KC-06)
Bring: your VU Student Card and a valid ID
Opening hours: Monday-Friday, 09:00-13:00
  *   If you do not have a VU Student Card:
We cannot grant you access, and you will need to enter the floor and / or lab with a employee or fellow student.

Additionally, please complete the mandatory Lab Safety Course available on your Canvas Dashboard<https://canvas.vu.nl/>. You should also have received an invitation via your VU email.
