I'm sad that you will be leaving us but very happy for you that you found an exciting position over in Germany.
I hope that we can keep in touch personally and as a department to exchange ideas, students and upcoming grant opportunities.
Personally, I really appreciated your support and help during my arrival, it was very much instrumental to my landing here in the department.

Dear all,

Some of you may already have heard the news, but I wanted to let you know personally that I will be moving on from the VU to join Bielefeld University in Germany at the end of the academic year.

I have very much enjoyed my time at the VU. Over the past almost five years, I have had the opportunity to build a research group, work with students, and collaborate and discuss with many of you. I would like to thank you for all the support, discussions, and collaborations that have made my time here really enjoyable. While I am excited about this next step, I will miss many things about the VU and the department.

I will also still be around for a few more months and will be joining the staff retreat and the department event, so there will be plenty of opportunities to catch up before I leave. Even after that, there are ongoing projects, collaborations, and the supervision of students who will continue their work here, so I will be around every now and then.

Thank you all for these five years. I look forward to the coming months here with you and to staying in touch afterwards.
