Dear Physics and Astronomy department colleagues,

Please find attached the final report summarising the outcome of the SEP Research Assessment 2017-2024.

As you can read, also in this final report the assessment of the committee is overwhelmingly positive: "The committee finds that P&A delivers research of excellent quality and holds a leading position in several areas of physics", "The department has further strengthened its research capacity through targeted recruitment and has improved gender balance at early career stages", or "The department is well embedded in national and international collaboration networks, with LaserLaB Amsterdam serving as an important unifying element across research activities and contributing to coherence within the research portfolio".

Of particular interest are the recommendations that the committee makes for the future of the department (page 60).

We will briefly discuss this report at the staff lunch next week, and in more detail during the staff retreat in June.

We can still provide feedback in case factual inaccuracies are observed, if so please contact Karin before April 23rd so that we can compile and send the list.
