As many of you know, after a hiatus of several years, the Weekend van de 
Wetenschap (Weekend of Science) is coming back to the VU campus, this 
Saturday Oct 4th!

Everyone is welcome to step into the brand-new VU Research building and 
explore the fascinating world of science carried out at the Vrije 
Universiteit Amsterdam.

On this special day, researchers from across the Faculty of Science and 
the AUMC will open their doors to welcome a broad audience especially 
children (ages 4–14) and families.  Visitors can look, listen, and take 
part in interactive experiments that reveal how scientists study the 
world around us from the tiniest molecules to the largest ecosystems.

Whether you want to see lasers in action, program your own self-driving 
car, learn how your brain works, explore living cells, dive into the 
ocean, or zoom in on the Earth beneath your feet—there’s something to 
inspire everyone!

We would be most grateful if you could share this information among your 
friends, families, and broader network - and needless to say, all our VU 
colleagues and their families are more than welcome to join us and help 
to make it a most wonderful and successful event.
