Dear colleagues,

As briefly mentioned during the last staff meeting, the DEI Council of our department<https://vu.nl/en/about-vu/faculties/faculty-of-science/teams/diversity-equity-and-inclusion-dei-council> is looking for new members to join our team.

If you care about fostering an environment where everyone feels included, respected, and supported, this is a great opportunity to get involved. The time commitment is entirely flexible and depends on how much you wish to contribute: this is a bottom-up, grassroots initiative, driven by our collective motivation rather than formal obligations.

Our past activities have included:

Organizing department-wide DEI workshops for staff and students
  *
Conducting the PhD wellbeing survey
  *
Running a summer internship program for underrepresented students
  *
Maintaining sex-disaggregated data on the composition of our department

We are now looking for new ideas and new energy to continue and expand these efforts.
