This insures employees against the risk of reduced income due to occupational disability. Some of the employees still have legal holiday hours from 2024 on their holiday chart. If they do not take these holiday leave hours before 1 July 2025, they will expire in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Labour Agreement as of 1 July 2025.

Do you want to hire an international guest or employee from outside the EU as of 1 September 2025 and does he or she need an entry visa, residence permit or work permit? Then International Office would like to receive the application before 15 June 2025.
This deadline has been set due to the high workload at the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND), the embassies and International Office. In the summer, many international students and academic staff are coming to VU Amsterdam. That is the reason International Office needs to start and handle the requests for new international guests and employees as quickly as possible.
The deadline of 15 June also applies to the extension of hospitality or employment contracts of non-EU guests and employees. Complete applications received before 15 June are guaranteed to be processed and sent to the IND on time. Applications received after the deadline will of course be processed but guarantees cannot be given.
