Voor de onderwijsaccreditatie van de bachelor- en masteropleidingen in het cluster van de Exacte Wetenschappen wordt het steeds belangrijker om een goed functionerende werkveldadviesraad te hebben. Deze is nodig voor de instellingsaccreditatie en voor de eerstvolgende tussentijdse opleidingsaccreditatie die er per 2025 aan komt (tot nu toe hebben de EW-opleidingen nooit een goed-functionerende werkveldadviesraad gehad).

Daartoe hebben de onderwijsdirecteuren van CoSS en GSS het plan opgevat om een permanente, structurele EW-brede werkveldadviesraad in te stellen bestaande uit ca. acht senior personen uit het werkveld van de EW-opleidingen (te benoemen door de onderwijsdirecteuren en met een zittingstermijn van drie jaar). Daarvoor is de volgende jaarcyclus bedacht:

  *   de bachelor- en masteropleidingen bevragen jaarlijks zelf recent afgestudeerde alumni (1-5 jaar werkervaring) over de aansluiting opleiding-werkveld middels een online enquete. Dit kan per opleidingstype, dus ba en ma Scheikunde gezamenlijk, idem Wiskunde en Natuur- en Sterrenkunde.
  *   de werkveldadviesraad komt jaarlijks één keer fysiek bijeen, krijgt als input vragen van de opleidingsdirecteuren, de resultaten van de genoemde alumni-enquetes, jaarverslagen van de opleidingen en geeft gevraagd en ongevraagd advies over de aansluiting opleidingen-arbeidsmarkt. Het verslag van deze bijeenkomst wordt weer opgenomen in de jaarplannen van de opleidingen/colleges en schools.

Voor deze in te stellen werkveldadviesraad zijn we daarom op zoek naar personen met het volgende profiel:

  *   werkzaam in het werkveld van de Exacte Wetenschappen, dus natuur- en sterrenkunde, scheikunde, wiskunde (per vakgebied twee personen, in het bedrijfsleven of bij overheidsinstellingen, in ieder geval niet in de academia), daarnaast uit de technologiehoek en het onderwijsveld ieder 1 persoon;
  *   met zeg minstens 10 jaar werkervaring
  *   het werkveld goed overziend
  *   in een leidinggevende positie en/of HR-ervaring
  *   een UvA-alumnus is een pré, maar geen strikte vereiste

Bij deze vragen wij u vanuit de afdeling natuurkunde van de VU personen voor te dragen voor deze adviesraad, afkomstig uit het werkveld van uw opleidingen. Fijn als u dit in uw instituut breed kenbaar wil maken en bespreken in een staflunch of iets dergelijks. Voordrachten (met contactgegevens) graag sturen naar c.g.zaal at uva.nl<mailto:c.g.zaal at uva.nl> (onderwijsdirecteur CoSS) en  j.p.vanderschaar at uva.nl<mailto:j.p.vanderschaar at uva.nl> (onderwijsdirecteur GSS). Deadline: 1 maart as. Daarna willen we beginnen met het samenstellen van de adviesraad. U hoeft deze personen niet zelf te benaderen, dat zullen wij doen.

English translation:
For the educational accreditation of bachelor’s and master's degree programmes in the Beta Sciences cluster, it is increasingly important to have a well-functioning Work Field Advisory Council. This is needed for the institutional accreditation and for the next interim programme accreditation coming up in 2025 (so far, EW programmes have never had a well-functioning Work Field Advisory Council).

To this end, the education directors of CoSS and GSS have planned to establish a permanent, structural EW-wide Work Field Advisory Council consisting of about eight senior individuals from the EW programmes' work fields (to be appointed by the education directors and with a three-year term of office). The following annual cycle has been devised for this purpose:

- Every year, the bachelor's and master's degree programmes themselves survey recent graduates (1-5 years of work experience) about the connection between the programme and the professional field by means of an online survey. This can be done per programme type, i.e. BA and MA Chemistry together, idem Maths and Physics and Astronomy.

- The Work Field Advisory Council meets physically once a year, receives as input questions from the programme directors, the results of the aforementioned alumni surveys, annual reports of the programmes and gives solicited and unsolicited advice on the connection between programmes and the labour market. The report of this meeting is again included in the annual plans of the programmes/colleges and schools.

For the Work Field Advisory Council we are therefore looking for individuals with the following profile:

- working in the field of Beta Sciences, i.e. physics, astronomy, chemistry, mathematics (two persons per field, in industry or government institutions, in any case not in academia), additionally from the technology corner and the education field one person each.
- with at least 10 years of work experience
- a good overview of the field
- in a managerial position and/or HR experience
- a UvA alumnus is an advantage, but not a strict requirement

We hereby ask you from the Department of Physics at VU to nominate individuals for this advisory board, coming from the field of your courses. It would be great if you would like to make this widely known in your institute and discuss it in a staff lunch or something similar. Deadline: 1 March 2024. After that, we would like to start putting together the advisory board. You do not need to approach these individuals yourself, we will do that.
