[staff-physics-and-astronomy-HL-UHD-UD] Belangrijke informatie: Overgang Windows 11

Beste collega's,
Met deze e-mail willen we jullie informeren over de overgang van Windows 10 naar Windows 11. Deze update geldt voor alle laptops met Windows. Gebruikers met een VU Macbook zijn vrijgesteld, evenals desktops.
Windows 11 brengt aanzienlijke voordelen zoals verbeterde beveiliging (gehele harde schijf wordt versleuteld), snellere opstarttijden en volledige vrijheid om apps te installeren vanuit de Microsoft Store en de VU Company Store.
Momenteel worden alle faculteiten en diensten in fasen gemigreerd. Alle diensten zijn al overgezet, waardoor de kinderziektes uit het proces zijn verdwenen.
Voor onze faculteit start deze migratie op 22 april.
Binnenkort ontvangen degenen, die in het bezit zijn van een Windows-laptop een uitnodiging van IT voor het overzetten van jullie laptops. Deze migratiesessies vinden plaats vanaf 22 april in het W&N Gebouw en duren ongeveer 30-45 minuten. De IT-uitnodiging bevat meer details over voorbereidingen, zoals back-ups, en de optie om een adoptiesessie in te plannen voor optimaal gebruik van Windows 11.
Let op: er zijn ook diverse laptops in omloop, waarbij de geregistreerde eigenaar/gebruiker anders is dan de daadwerkelijke gebruiker. Heb je een Windows laptop van de VU in gebruik en mocht je binnen nu en 2 weken geen mail van IT ontvangen met informatie en de uitnodiging, neem dan zelf even contact op met de IT-servicedesk.

     *   Aankondiging: di 9 april (vanuit faculteit)
     *   Uitnodiging: ma 15 april (plannen afspraak)
     *   Uitrol sessies: ma 22 april t/m vr 24 mei
     *   Herinnering: do 25 april (plannen afspraak)
     *   Afronding: ma 27 mei (overzicht aantallen)
     *   4 wkn reminder: ma 21 juni (laatste 4 weken)
     *   8 wkn einde: ma 22 juli (niet over > afsluiting)

Dear Colleagues,

With this e-mail we would like to inform you about the transition from Windows 10 to Windows 11. This update applies to all laptops running Windows. Users with a VU Macbook are exempt, as well as desktops.

Windows 11 brings significant benefits such as improved security (entire hard drive is encrypted), faster start-up times and complete freedom to install apps from the Microsoft Store and the VU Company Store.

Currently, all faculties and services are being migrated in stages. All services have already been migrated, avoiding any initial issues.
For our faculty, this migration will start on April 22.

Soon, those, who own a Windows laptop will receive an invitation from IT for the transfer of your laptops. These migration sessions will take place starting April 22 in the W&N Building and will last approximately 30-45 minutes. The IT invitation includes more details about preparations, such as backups, and the option to schedule an adoption session for optimal use of Windows 11.

Please note that there are also several laptops in circulation where the registered owner/user is different from the actual user. o you have a VU Windows laptop in use and should you not receive an email from IT with information and the invitation within the next 2 weeks, please contact the IT service desk yourself.
