Dear all,
Karazin University in Ukraine has indicated a shortage of books especially for research and teaching in the fields covered by STEM (mathematics, physics, chemistry, earth sciences, etc.).
If you due to the demolition of the W&N building, or any other reason, would like to get rid of books, as long as the books fall under one of the above disciplines, are written in a European language, and are still relevant/not too old, Karazin University would very much like to have them. University library has started a collection campaign. Do you have books you would like to donate? Graag vraag ik jullie aandacht voor onderstaand verzoek vanuit de UB n.a.v. een boeken-inzamelingsactie voor Karazin University (Kharkiv, Oekraïne).

“Momenteel zijn we bij de UB met de Oekraïense Karazin University (Kharkiv) in gesprek over hoe we hen kunnen helpen in deze verschrikkelijke tijd, bijvoorbeeld door boeken te doneren waar zij baat bij hebben. Karazin University heeft aangegeven vooral een tekort te hebben aan boeken voor onderzoek en onderwijs in de vakgebieden die vallen onder bèta (wiskunde, natuurkunde, scheikunde, aardswetenschappen, etc.). Vanuit de UB-collectie zullen we hen relevante boeken aanbieden die wij dubbel of niet meer nodig hebben.

Nu vroegen we ons of er misschien onder jullie mensen zijn die vanwege de sloop van het W&N-gebouw of welke reden dan ook van boeken af zouden willen en deze zouden willen doneren aan Karazin University. Zolang de boeken onder een van bovenstaande disciplines vallen, in een Europese taal geschreven zijn, en nog relevant/niet te oud zijn, zou Karazin University deze heel graag willen hebben. Hiertoe zijn we een inzamelingsactie gestart. Heb je boeken die je zou willen doneren?
