<p class="MsoNormal">Graag informeren wij jullie dat wij het voornemen hebben om de ingangsdatum van de voorgenomen reorganisatie te wijzigen naar
<b>niet eerder dan 1 februari, 2026</b>. <br>
<br>
Na de bekendmaking van het voorgenomen besluit over de reorganisatie van de afdeling Aardwetenschappen op 3 april jl. hebben het Faculteitsbestuur en het College van Bestuur verschillende berichten ontvangen waarin door medewerkers, studenten en medezeggenschap
zorgen zijn geuit. We waarderen ieders betrokkenheid en het onder de aandacht brengen van de mogelijke knelpunten die worden voorzien. We hebben als faculteitsbestuur mede naar aanleiding hiervan, in samenspraak met het College van Bestuur, het voornemen om
de implementatie en daarmee de herplaatsing van boventallige staf, niet eerder te laten plaatsvinden dan 1 februari 2026. Deze extra tijd wordt gebruikt, ondanks de blijvend moeilijke situatie, om de juiste voorbereiding te treffen voor een goede uitvoering
van de implementatie.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Daarnaast kijken we nog kritisch naar het (langer) behouden van enkele posities, waarover we jullie na nadere uitwerking zullen informeren.

<p class="MsoNormal">Deze voornemens zullen we vanmiddag met de medezeggenschap bespreken tijdens de overlegvergadering met het College van Bestuur en de Ondernemingsraad. We streven naar definitieve besluitvorming ten aanzien van het reorganisatieplan voor
de zomer 2025. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We organiseren volgende week <b>dinsdag 3 juni van 9:00 – 10:00 uur</b> een onlinebijeenkomst waarin jullie vragen kunnen stellen. Voor de studenten zal een aparte onlinebijeenkomst worden georganiseerd op donderdag 5 juni van 13:00 – 14:00
uur.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We willen benadrukken dat de zorg voor onze medewerkers en studenten voor ons de hoogste prioriteit heeft. Wij blijven de komende tijd gesprekken voeren met het veld, medewerkers en studenten om er zeker van te zijn dat alle mogelijke knelpunten
goed in beeld zijn. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US">We would like to inform you of an important change regarding the proposed reorganization of the Department of Earth Sciences. Our intention is to postpone the implementation date to <b>no earlier than February 1, 2026</b>.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US">Since the announcement of the proposed decision on April 3, 2025, both the Faculty Board and Executive Board have received various reactions from staff, students, and participation bodies expressing concerns about
the reorganization. We greatly appreciate everyone’s engagement and the effort to highlight potential issues.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US">In response, the Faculty Board has, in consultation with the Executive Board, the intention to postpone the implementation date, and consequently the reassignment of redundant staff, to no earlier than February 1,
2026. This extra time will be used, even though the situation remains challenging, to make additional preparations for a responsible and effective execution of the implementation.
<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US">We are also critically reviewing the possibility of retaining certain positions (for a longer period). We will inform you further once these considerations have been worked out in more detail.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US">These intentions will be discussed this afternoon during the consultation meeting between the Executive Board and the Works Council. We aim to reach a final decision on the reorganization plan before the summer of
2025.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span lang="EN-US">Next week, we will organize an online meeting on <b>Tuesday, June 3, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.</b>, during which you can ask questions. A separate online session will be arranged for students on Thursday, June 5, from
