Beste collega’s,

Bijgevoegd ontvangen jullie een overzicht van de Beta aanmeldingen van alle opleidingen op peildatum 7 augustus 2024, inclusief de instroomprognoses per opleiding.
Voor een uitsplitsing naar het aantal aanmeldingen per specialisatie verwijzen we graag naar het bestand van week 31.

Aanmeldcijfers Bèta

  *   De toelatingscategorieën worden steeds relevanter om de te verwachten instroom in te schatten.
     *   In het tabblad ‘Herkomst & Toelatingscat.’ is per categorie een opmerking toegevoegd, waarin de conversie tot inschrijvingen van de afgelopen jaren wordt toegelicht.
     *   Voor een aantal opleidingen geeft dit een beeld dat wat afwijkt van de instroomprognose:
Voor bAI, mBSB-JD en mMPA lijkt de instroomprognose hoger uit te vallen dan het beeld dat de aantallen per toelatingscategorie schetsen
Voor bBIO, bGZW en bMNW geven de aantallen per toelatingscategorie juist een wat hogere verwachting dan de instroomprognose
  *   Voor de joint degrees waarvan de UvA penvoerder is geldt dat de gegevens voor de aanmeldingen op deze peildatum in 2023 incorrect zijn. Door een error vorig jaar werden hier ook herinschrijvingen meegeteld. Voor 2024 gaat dit wel goed.
Als gevolg zijn de verschillen in aanmeldingen t.o.v. vorig jaar hier niet beschikbaar. Wel is de uiteindelijke instroom in 2023 van deze opleidingen vermeld.

Numerus Fixus opleidingen

  *   Afwijzingen n.a.v. verwerkte documenten en betalingen hebben plaatsgevonden. Daardoor zijn de aanmeldcijfers afgenomen t.o.v. de vorige update. Meer dan 90% van alle resterende aanmeldingen hebben nu de status ‘Goedgekeurd’.
     *   BMED was 145 > nu nog 135 over
     *   CS was 276 > nu nog 177 over
     *   G&L was 105 > nu nog 93 over

Instroomprognoses

  *   De voorlopige instroomprognoses zijn gebaseerd op de conversie van aanmeldingen naar voltijd hoofdinschrijvingen van de afgelopen jaren, en worden per opleiding opgedeeld in lage, normale en hoge prognoses.
  *   Het model dat hiervoor wordt gebruikt is ontwikkeld door het VU Educational Analytics Team. De conversie is de afgelopen jaren sterk beïnvloed door externe factoren (covid, Brexit, herinvoering studiebeurs) en daardoor momenteel moeilijk te voorspellen.
  *   Wegens een wijziging in het inschrijvingsproces zijn de voorspellingen voor de Joint Degrees lastiger geworden. Voorheen konden studenten de inschrijving in orde maken bij zowel de penvoerder als bij de partner. Tegenwoordig alleen bij de penvoerder. Daardoor zijn de voorspellingen minder correct.

De volgende update van de aanmeldcijfers met prognoses zal op 15 augustus worden gedeeld.

Please find enclosed an overview of Beta applications from all programs as of reference date August 7th, 2024, including preliminary enrollment prognoses.
For a breakdown of the number of applications per specialization, please refer to the Week 31 file.

Applications Beta

  *   Admission categories are becoming increasingly relevant to determine expected enrollments.
     *   In the 'Herkomst & Toelatingscat.' tab, a comment has been added for each category, explaining the conversion to enrollments in the last few years.
     *   For a number of programs, this presents a picture that differs somewhat from the enrollment prognosis:
For bAI, mBSB-JD and mMPA, the enrollment forecast seems to be higher than the picture painted by the numbers per admission category
For bBIO, bGZW and bMNW, the numbers per admission category give a slightly higher expectation than the enrollment prognosis.
  *   For the joint degrees for which the UvA is the coordinator, the data for the applications on this reference date in 2023 are incorrect. Due to an error last year, re-enrollments were also included. For 2024 the numbers are correct.
As a result, the differences in applications compared to last year are not available here. However, the final enrolment in 2023 of these programs is mentioned.

Numerus Fixus programs

  *   Rejections following processed documents and payments have taken place. As a result, application numbers have decreased since the previous update. Over 90% of all remaining applications now have "Approved" status.
     *   BMED was 145 > now 135 remaining
     *   CS was 276 > now 177 remaining
     *   G&L was 105 > now 93 remaining

Enrollment prognoses

  *   The preliminary enrollment prognoses are based on the conversion of applications to full-time main registrations from past years, and are divided by program into low, normal and high projections.
  *   The model used for this purpose was developed by the VU Educational Analytics Team. Conversions in recent years have been heavily influenced by external factors (covid, Brexit, scholarship reintroduction) and therefore are currently difficult to forecast.
  *   Due to a change in the enrollment process, prognoses for Joint Degrees have become more difficult. Previously, students could complete enrollment with both the penvoerder and the partner. Nowadays only with the penvoerder. As a result, the prognoses are less accurate.

The next update of application figures with prognoses will be distributed on August 15th.
