</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">Dr Gilad Silberberg obtained his PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, after which he pursued postdoctoral research at the Brain Mind Institute in
Lausanne, Switzerland, and later joined Karolinska Institutet in 2005 as a postdoc in Sten Grillner's lab at the Nobel Institute for Neurophysiology. In 2008 he established his own research group at Karolinska Institutet's Department of Neuroscience, becoming
associate professor in 2011 and full Professor of Neurophysiology in 2018. In his group, he makes use of electrophysiology, optogenetics, and computational modeling to map the synaptic connectivity and activity of neurons in the basal ganglia and neocortex.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
