Beste vrienden en (ex)collega’s,

Graag nodig ik jullie uit voor mijn promotieplechtigheid op woensdag 25 september om 10:15 uur. De plechtigheid vindt plaats in de senaatszaal in het Academiegebouw (Domplein 29 in Utrecht) en zal beginnen met een verdediging van 45 minuten, waarna de commissie in beraad zal gaan. Daarna volgt de afronding van de plechtigheid met aansluitend een receptie in het Academiegebouw.

Ik wil graag het (hopelijk) behalen van een doctoraat vieren met een borrel op dezelfde dag in Cafe Joost (Achter Sint Pieter 3, Utrecht) vanaf 19:00 uur.

Als je het leuk vindt om bij de plechtigheid, de borrel ’s avonds of beide bij te wonen, dan hoor ik dit graag zodat ik weet met hoeveel mensen ik rekening kan houden. Voor de mensen die in de ochtend willen komen: de plechtigheid begint exact om 10:15 uur, dus wees uiterlijk 5 minuten van tevoren aanwezig in de senaatszaal.

With pleasure I would like to invite you to my PhD defense on Wednesday the 25th of September at 10:15. The ceremony will take place at the Academiegebouw (Domplein 29, Utrecht). After the ceremony there will be a reception at the Academiegebouw and to celebrate I will give a borrel in the evening at Cafe Joost (Achter Sint Pieter 3, Utrecht), starting at 19:00.

Please let me know if you would like to be present at the ceremony or borrel (or both) so I can make an estimation of how many people will be attending. If you want to be present at the ceremony, please be aware that the ceremony starts exactly at 10:15, so make sure to be present at least 5 minutes in advance.
