<p><span>At London Climate Action Week, UN Secretary-General António Guterres launched a
</span><span style="font-weight:bold">global call for action on methane.</span></p>

<p><span>“London isn't just calling—it’s cooking,” Guterres said, as a heat dome gripped the city and much of Europe. He urged rapid action to limit temperature overshoot and bring warming back below 1.5 degrees Celsius as quickly as possible.</span></p>

<p><span>Guterres outlined </span><span style="font-weight:bold">nine actions across three key sectors
</span><span>by 2030, including fixing oil and gas leaks, making methane measurable, reportable and verifiable, and adopting a global methane standard for a near-zero methane fossil fuel market.</span></p>
