From the Methane 250 meeting in Ispra I’d like to bring the Angera Declaration to your attention. It aligns very nicely with the goals of the IM4CA project and raises awareness for what we do and why it is so important.

Dear all,

As we prepare for the Methane Action for People & Planet conference to mark the 250th anniversary of methane’s discovery in Angera, Italy, we have an opportunity to use this moment to accelerate global progress on methane action.

A key moment at the conference will be the release of a statement from the scientific community—the Angera Declaration for Methane Action.

As someone who expressed interest in attending in person or online, we invite you to read the draft declaration and consider endorsing it in advance of the conference. Please note that the declaration is embargoed until its public release on April 1, 2026. However, you are welcome to share the form directly over email with other scientists and experts in your network who may wish to consider endorsing the declaration.
