Dear project coordinator,

You may know that the 7th Assessment Cycle of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is underway, with the Working Groups advancing the work even though the strategic schedule for the delivery of the reports remains to be approved. We are rapidly approaching the first order draft review of Working Group 1 (physical science of climate change), which is open to individual experts only.

This is a unique opportunity for the IM4CA consortium partners to register as reviewer, as this comes early in the process and holds great potential for disseminating your projects’ results. Can I kindly ask that you share the news with your consortium EU-funded projects on climate science hold a good record<https://op.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/5417b4fd-c9fa-11ed-a05c-01aa75ed71a1/language-en> of being cited in IPCC reports and contributing to IPCC assessments is greatly valued as an outcome. The review should be of high interest to you also to have an exclusive preview of the upcoming assessment.

The important information to retain is:
-          The expert review is the first of 2 review stages open to individual experts, and it runs from 10 August to 2 October 2026
-          Interested experts are invited to register by 23:50 CEST on 25 September 2026: IPCC Review Comments - AR7WG1<https://apps.ipcc.ch/comments/ar7wg1/register.php?q=fod>

Additionally, please note the review of the Methodology Report on Short Lived Climate Forcers will follow shortly. It will be on the second draft, and the last opportunity for individual experts to comment. It will run from 31 August to 26 October 2026, and the IPCC will launch the formal invitation to register in a few weeks (this page<https://www.ipcc.ch/news/> can be checked for updates).
