Dear scientific colleagues in the IM4CA project and interested collaborators,

As you know, following up on our activities in the earlier ROMEO project (2019-2021), we are planing two measurement campaigns to quantify onshore (in 2026) and offshore (in 2027) methane emissions in Romania as part of the new EU research project IM4CA (Investigating Methane for Climate Action). To initiate these measurement activities and revive our contacts with the relevant stakeholders, we have scheduled a stakeholder meeting n Bucharest on October 6. The stakeholder meeting is a combined meeting of the IM4CA project and the EUKI project “Integrated Approach to Methane Emissions Abatement” (https://www.euki.de/en/euki-projects/integrated-approach-to-methane-emissions-abatement/) and will take place at the Representation of the European Commission in Bucharest, Romania.

On behalf of the the IM4CA consortium and 2Celsius, I am pleased to invite you to this stakeholder meeting. The conference will bring together representatives of the European Commission, policy makers, financial institutions, industry, civil society, and research bodies to discuss practical solutions for methane emissions reduction across the energy, waste, and agriculture sectors in Central and Eastern Europe.
In a separate closed session in the afternoon  we want to discuss concrete steps towards the execution of the upcoming measurements in 2026, similar to our activities in the ROMEO project.
