Dear colleagues, <br>
Please find below some action items and announcements from the
IM4CA WP1 meeting earlier today: <br>
1) Urgent next steps necessary to further prepare the Bucharest
stakeholder meeting in October, need to connect with INCAS, INOE
and external contacts to plan time and scope<br>
<br>
2) Complete campaign implementation plan is needed including all
planned activities, and possible targets<br>
<br>
3) More precise definition necessary on the link with
SMART-methane, and possible also the allocation of the available
funding is required (now budgeted for more modeling)<br>
<br>
4) Interaction between EMPA isotope group, UU and UBB (group of
Calin Baciu) necessary to plan isotope sampling campaign in
October. Thomas will share recent manuscript with EMPA<br>
<br>
5) More concrete plans for the deployment of continuous ground
based sensors need to be made, and communicated to SENSIRION. <br>
6) Separate meeting on EM27 deployment and extension with
associated partner TU Munich will be planned<br>
<br>
7) Consider whether mud volcanoes can also be targeted in 2026
campaign - get emission rate estimates from Giuseppe Etiope<br>
<br>
Other important announcements: - The group of Jia Chen from TU
Munich has connected as associated partner to IM4CA with EM27
measurement capacity and expertise<br>
- Swiss-Romanian bilateral project is still pending and further
delayed, risk for IM4CA: If this does not go through the role of
EMPA and aircraft operations will be limited<br>
- Univ Breman mentioned potential opportunity to measure at LNG
terminal in Wilhelmshaven, also with their Dimona aircraft (local
pilot may get permission)<br>
- Link with GHGSat has been formalised. IM4CA pays for images, we
can therefore to certain degree also request time and location of
images during campaign. Carles Debart or colleague want to join
WP1 meetings.<br>
- Drone inter comparison campaign to take place in Cyprus 20-24
oct<br>
