[Im4ca-wp1.beta] Follow-up meeting Romania ground teams

Dear all,

Ahead of the meeting of the "ground team people", to which I feel loosely
attached, I'd like to make you aware of a software tool I had developed over
the past three weeks, largely during the IM4CA campaign.

The package can be cloned from
https://gitlab.com/empa503/atmospheric-modelling/gauss-emission-quantificati
on and includes several notebooks to demonstrate its capabilities. One
notebook analyses the measurements during a car drive of LSCE.

What the package can do:

*	Create a "drive" object, which will contain all measurements from a
single car drive
*	Read in mobile measurement data in different formats (additional
functions will have to be added for your specific data format)
*	Add information on the sources observed during the drive (lat/lon
position, etc.)
*	Divide the drive into segments, with each segment representing the
part of the drive close to a given source
*	Divide each segment into

*	Individual transects, with each transect representing one passage of
the car past the source. A new transect starts when the car reverts its
direction.
*	Individual OTM33a measurement sections. These sections are simply
identified as parts of the segment where the car does not move.

*	Subtract baselines from the concentration data to generate new
columns "variable_excess" and "variable_bline"
*	Detect plumes in individual transects
*	Estimate emissions by fitting a Gaussian plume model to all plumes
in all transects within a segment
*	Plot the data from the whole drive or from individual segments in
various way including

*	Time series with possibility to highlight different transects /
otm33a parts in different colors
*	Maps in lat/lon or x/y coordinates or as overlays over Open Street
Maps

*	Export the drive data a kmz file for further inspection. The kmz
file will have the hierarchy:
- Drive

*	Segments

*	Transects

*	Plumes

*	OTM33a sections

I guess several of you already have your own software package, but you may
still find this useful. Feel free to combine with your tools.

If you find this interesting, I can give a short demo tomorrow.

There are still things that should be added, especially a method applying
OTM33a quantification to an OTM33a measurement section.

If you have access to the ICOS jupyterhub, you can check out the tool there.
It is stored in the folder

/project/im4ca/BETA_ES_IM4CA (Projectfolder)/WP1- Anthropogenic emissions
Thomas Roeckmann and Jean-Daniel Paris/python/gauss-emission-quantification

which should be accessible to you. You can also install it on the icos
jupyterhub by yourself, which will be easier to play around. Please let me
know if you need help for that.

Cheers

Dominik

Hi all,

This is a reminder to fill this poll for ground team people, I want to take
a decision today at noon for the meeting.

Best,

Dylan

Subject: Follow-up meeting Romania ground teams

Hi all,

We would like to have a follow-up meeting regarding the Romania campaign
this week, especially regarding data processing progress from the different
ground teams. What has been done, what is planned, and critically the
planned timelines.

For this here is a nuudel link with the times we propose, in order of
preference by Thomas:

https://nuudel.digitalcourage.de/FrMBxJsgQnoFwfLt

1.	Thu 25 June 10:00 - 11:00

2.	Thu 25 June 15:30 - 16:30

3.	Wed 24 June 09:00 - 10:00

4.	Wed 24 June 10:00 - 11:00

It would be nice to atleast have 1 representative from each ground team
there.
