Today I have receved the sad news that Jack Cowan, a foundational figure in mathematical neuroscience, passed away recently.

Hugh Wilson and others are currently preparing a scientific obituary celebrating Cowan's life and scientific achievements, which will be published in Biological Cybernetics.
