Dear all,
Just before the summer, this Special Issue was published that I edited with Asuncion Fresnoza-Flot. Some of the contributions are open access and although not all of them are on 'mixed' families, some of them are.
Have a good summer! best wishes, Betty

Onderwerp: [Euromixproject.rch] Advancing research in couples studies
Dear all,
My article "Advancing research in couple studies. Why, when and how to combine individual and couple interview" is finally out, published in the methodological journal "Quality & Quantity".
Using this link<https://rdcu.be/cOq2p> you can freely access the article.
https://rdcu.be/cOq2p
In this article I have addressed the question of how to interview a couple. Some scholars assume that individual interviews are the best way of inquiring into couple processes because they bring the interviewer closer to the interviewee “voice”, while others suggest that couple interviews are preferable as they result in the production of “richer data” and avoid ethical problems of privacy and consent between the partners. Drawing on my empirical research on mixed families, in this article I present an analytical three-pole scheme to organize the combined use of individual and couple interviews. It concludes that the central issue at stake is not which interview modes produce “richer data”, but what data the two types of interview generate and how the research design may benefit from its combined use. Finally, it is discussed how different ethical problems may arise from each interview mode.
I hope you will find it interesting and useful for your own research.
Best wishes,
Francesco
